Thank You for Making the Jax Hope Neurodivergent Symposium a Success!

We’re thrilled to share that the recent Neurodivergent Symposium was a big success! It was wonderful to see so many members of the Parkinson’s community join us, along with patients and Care-Partners affected by Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other movement disorders.

We were honored to welcome five local neurologists who generously gave their time to speak on topics like sleep, mobility challenges, and medication options. A big thank-you to Dr. Jesse Cohen, Dr. Kartik Mangipudi from UF Health, Dr. Asad, Angelo Capobianco of Universal NeuroCare, and Dr. Huang from Baptist Health.

Around 150 people attended, and more than 75% stayed until the very end—proof that the information shared was truly valuable and meaningful.

As always, Dr. Prosje brought heart and wisdom with her talk on aging and how to push back against the effects of mental decline.

Melanie Lomaglio, founder of Rebloom, led an engaging exercise demonstration focused on building strength and helping slow the progression of neurological conditions. Attendees loved the energy and hands-on approach!

We also want to give a special shout-out to Kathy Lowery, leader of the Westside Jacksonville Parkinson’s Support Group. Kathy kicked off the event with the National Anthem and kept the momentum going with entertainment during the lunch break.

We’re already thinking ahead to next year’s symposium—and we’d love your help! If you have ideas, feedback, or suggestions, please reach out. Together, we can make the next one even better!
