Things we like to do
We meet weekly, and have occasional speakers of interest, such as Pharma reps to learn about new treatments and other speakers of interest to our group. Lately, we have enjoyed doing chair yoga regularly with a great yoga teacher. Exercise is so beneficial and most of our people participate in some form of exercise because it makes them feel better. Rock Steady Boxing has become a favorite activity for many of our members and is very popular. Mainly, we share information and camaraderie with each other and do our best to lift each other up as we meet each challenge that life and Parkinson’s sends our way.
Exercise
We do chair yoga and Rock Steady Boxing.
Guest Speakers
We have Pharma reps and expert speakers from Mayo on topics surrounding Parkinson's Disease.
Other Fun Stuff
We primarily like to share information and enjoy our cameraderie; lifting each other up while meeting the challenges of Parkinson's.
We enjoyed attending Beaches Support Group because we’re able to meet new friends. The topics about Parkinson’s are informative. The leader of the group, Carol Rishel, is amazing! Sharing ideas and information about the disease is very helpful. Gaining more knowledge about the disease.
